Site of the Week
dtl.biz
This time we are going to do a little shameless self-promotion
and talk about our own sister web site.
For starters, the list of Italian
glossaries on dtl.biz is an excellent resource, with more
than 400 sites listed and organized by category, with the best
linguistic resources clearly identified. If you are an Italian
translator and you have not visited the site, please do yourself
a favor
and see what is out there on the web that can help you with your
work.
The list of Italian glossaries used to be mirrored on this
web site, but for techinical reasons we are no longer providing
is here or on the site of the Italian
Language Division of the American Translators Association. Plus on the same web site we have collected a number of articles
on localization and testing, plus tips for other translators on
writing an
effective resume.
On the DTL.biz web site we also provide PowerPoint files for the
presentations we have
done in the past at ATA conferences.
And more great sites>>

ATA
Only
3 months
left until the ATA
conference in Toronto. We'll be there
and we hope to see you too.
I will be presenting on Saturday morning on "Google is your
friend: Terminology search on the Internet".
Fascinating topic, I am sure you are all very excited about this.
We will also have the meeting of the Italian Language Division
on Thursday afternoon, and probably an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday
evening. More details on the conference and on the events that
the Italian Language Division is organizing for its members in
Toronto
are coming in a few weeks.

Book of the month
The theme for June is "Start a successful small business".
This month we are reading Drive
a Modest Car: & 16 Other Keys to Small Business Success
by Ralph Warner.
This is a book with some down-to-earth advice on starting and running
a small business. Many of the ideas are pretty simple but they are
powerful.
